Heathrow Development Update
12th May 2015 – Boris Johnson warned that the chances of Heathrow expanding were “virtually nil” as he vowed to use his Parliamentary seat to intensify his fight against a new runway.
In his first comments on the subject since being elected as an MP last week, Mr Johnson said the government should flatly reject any recommendation to build additional capacity at the hub airport.
An expanded Heathrow would cause misery to west London residents and lead to a huge influx of cars into the capital, he said.
4th March 2014 – Following the Langley Neighbourhood Forum public regarding their expansion proposals, Heathrow Airport Ltd asked residents to come forward who were interested in helping them develop their future blight and compensation schemes for communities potentially impacted by a new runway at Heathrow. They set up a residents’ working group intended to help them refine their blight and compensation options before further public consultation last year.
